About the Russian T34/76 ChTZ
During the early period of the Second World War, the Wehrmacht invasion into industrialized Russia threatened the supply of critical war materials and manufacturing plants. Russia`s National Defense Committee made a decision to move tank production and associated factories. The location became known as "Tankograd" (Tank City) a nickname acquired for this site situated deep in the Urals. The Russians, with an urgent requirement to reinforce their tank strength, made efforts to simplify tank manufacturing methods. This resulted in many versions of the T34 tank, that differed greatly from each other. One of the more distinctive versions was produced at the Chelyabinsk Tractor Works, "ChTZ" in Tankograd in 1943. This model used a one piece cast turret with pronounced rounding on the edges of the turret roof and a peculiar dip along the lower edge of the turret. This improved turret, had additional periscope and pistol ports, and provided more room and comfort for the crew. A new five-speed transmission with modified clutch was added, replacing four-speed model. Combined with engine improvements, these modifications extended the time between maintenance and repair. With few of the "ChTZ" versions produced, of the thousands of T34/76 tanks manufactured, it is regarded almost as a rarity.

About the German Sd.kfz.251/9 Ausf.D Kannwgn
The Sd.Kfz. 251 half-track stable was the centerpiece of the German Mechanized Corps, throughout the World War II. First production began in 1939, with the series classified into four types from Ausf. A to D, according to the production period. The early models used a very complicated body construction, made up of obliquely placed armor plates. This was somewhat simplified in the C and D types, to make mass production easier. The final, "D" production version appeared at the front in 1943, and it became the most widely used model among the many variants. More than 10,000 units of the D-type alone, were produced and entered service by the end of the conflict. Late in the war, the Sd.Kfz. 251 vehicles were mounted with a wide variety of equipment and armament for varied roles. Although originally developed as an armored personnel carrier, its high mobility and versatility allowed it to be used in a great number of roles. One of the variants, was the 251/9, which was equipped with the short barreled 7.5cm KwK37 L/24 cannon. This is the same cannon that was used as a main gun for the early versions of the Pz.Kpfw.IV and Sturmgeschutz III assault gun. With this fire power, the 251/9 was used mostly to provide direct fire support for the armored infantry, during the advance and static defense stages of the conflict.

The A3 series of the M-48 was the first to introduce the new AVDS-1970-2 diesel engine, which was a major improvement, and since its introduction many of the earlier Pattons have also been retrofitted with it. When used in Vietnam, secondary armament was often boosted by adding a .50 calibre machine gun above the cupola; a 7.62mm machine gun in front of the loaders hatch, and another 7.62mm MG in the mantlet in lieu of the telescopic sight. Early in its production the M-48 was fitted with a snorkeling kit which enables it to fork water obstacles up to 4.1 meters in depth. The M-48A3 uses a coincidence-type range finder for sighting its main 90mm gun. Range data from this sight is fed into a ballistic computer for very accurate and speedy target acquisition. Maximum road speed of the M-48A3 was 48km/h. Maximum range was 460 km, and the maximum road gradient was 60%. The A3 carried 62 rounds of 90mm ammunition, and up to 5900 rounds for the 7.62 MG`s. The A-3 model can be seen with either 3 or 5 wheel track bogies, and the majority used in Vietnam had five bogies, due to the jungle type of terrain encountered. Tank crew members often built up the sides of the turret with extra padding and equipment for additional protection from hostile fire. A great many of the existing M-48 tanks around the world are now being up graded to M-60 standards with the addition of the 105mm gun in place of the 90mm main unit.

About the Russian T34/76 1943 Tank
In "Operation Citadel", the last huge-scale "T-34/76 Tank 1943 Model" after the year 1943 staged severe tank-to-tank fighting against new and powerful German tanks such as the "Panther" and "Tiger". In the Prokhorovka area, T-34 tanks of 1943 model in the 181st Guard Tank Brigade under the Russian Fifth Tank Army fought against Tiger tanks of the picked German SS Tank Divisions "Adolf Hitler" and "Das Reich", and this was the largest-scale tank-to-tank fighting ever staged during the WWII. If the T-34 tank of 1942 model could be called "Stalingrad", the excellent 1943 model well claimed the name of "Kursk".

About the M4A2(76)W Sherman "Red Army"
During WWII, the primary tank used by the United, was the Sherman M4. The tank was provided to Russia via the Lend-Lease Act, which supplied the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, China, France and other allied nations with weapons and military vehicles in return for military bases. In late 1942, the first Sherman tanks sent to Russia were equipped with 75mm guns. Later versions sent in 1944, were armed with 52 caliber 76mm guns. The Russians commended these vehicles reliability and power, which was an asset to them in the Battle of Berlin.

About the German Armored Car Sd.Kfz.222
The 4x4 German armored car Sd.Kfz.222 was powered by a 80hp Horch V8 engine and came armed with a 20mm gun and a MG34 machine gun. From 1936 to 1943 (including all versions) approximately 990 were manufactured and were eyes of the Panzer divisions as they were mostly used as a reconnaissance vehicle throughout Europe and North Africa.
This set has been built in co-operation with ICM.
A great thing of this model Armored Car which was peculiar to the German Army is the ease of its assembly as well as the accuracy of the body.
Photo-etched parts for the hand grenade protector net and the grille above the engine are included.
One sprue from Tamiya`s 1/48 Panzer III/ IV tank is supplied allowing the modeler to freely add detailing such as the notek light, shovel, and fire extinguisher.

About the Volkswagen Type 82E Staff Car
Entering production just prior to the start of WWII in 1938, more than 20 million models of the Volkswagen "Beetle" had been built by 2003. Known during the war as the Kdf wagen, the VW came in 3 types: Type 60 civilian sedan, military Type 82E, which featured the Kubelwagen chassis and a sedan body, and military 4WD vehicle Type 87. As many as 546 models of the Type 82E were built between 1941 and 1946. Featuring road clearance 75mm higher than the civilian model, the Type 82E offered improved driving performance. The Volkswagen Type 82E was used as a staff car by many German military and government officials.

During the late 1970`s, the US Military worked at incorporating the functions of numerous military vehicles such as the M151 MUTT and M561 "Gamma Goat" into one unified design. Adequately named (HMMW) High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, this vehicle would be designed for durability, superior off-road handling, and versatility. The M1025 could be equipped with M2 or M60 machine guns, as well as MK.19 grenade launchers. This famous vehicle is now part of the Tamiya`s Military Miniature Series.
Desert CamouflageThe US Military`s M1025 Humvee was painted the same as NATO vehicles, in green, black and brown camouflage. However, for desert operations during conflicts in the Middle East, such as those in the Gulf War, monotone sand-colored camouflage was applied.
About the M1025 Humvee Armament CarrierAfter the US Military ran a thorough comparative analysis on prototypes developed by three different companies, the XM998 prototype of AM General was found to be not only the lightest, but also to exhibit performance levels beyond expectation. The Humvee features an aluminum body reinforced with a sturdy steel frame. Employing a V8 diesel engine capable of 150hp output as well as an advanced 4WD system, automatic transmission, and power steering. Depending on its variation and employment type, the Humvee, deployed by the US Military in 1985, can serve as a cargo or troop transport vehicle, armament carrier, TOW anti-tank missile or ground-to-air missile employing vehicle, rescue vehicle, and more. The M1025 was fitted for armament, but unlike some of its armed predecessors, the M1025 featured a metal roof in place of a canvas roof and door. The M1025 could be equipped with M2 or M60 machine guns, as well as MK.19 grenade launchers. The Humvee first was deployed to the Panama conflict and later demonstrated incredible mobility during its deployment in the Gulf War. The HUMVEE also was deployed to conflicts in Bosnia and Kosovo. Currently, this vehicle plays an indispensable role in the U.S. Military.

About the French Battle Tank B1 bis
In order to deal with the increasingly tense situation leading up to the outbreak of WWII, a decision was made to modify and improve the existing B1 tank, giving rise to the B1 bis. Distinctive features included the large 75mm gun turret and strengthened front armor. The engine was also upgraded to bring the tank up to contemporary standards. The French government tasked individual suppliers with producing key parts, which caused problems and greatly reduced the number of tanks that were built. Although these and other strategic failures inhibited the B1 bis tank`s ability on the battlefield, it was greatly feared by German soldiers who encountered it. Featuring strong firepower and defense, the B1 bis could more that hold its own against the tanks of the Wehrmacht during individual combat.
